Meet Adam Jackson
Our Tennis Coach!
Adam Jackson is the Tennis Coach for the Greeneville-Greene County Tennis Center. Adam is the head tennis coach for Tusculum College's mens and womens teams. He was coach at Georgia Gwinnett College for three years and helped to lead the school to NAIA national championships for the mens and womens teams in 2014. His mens teams won the 2015 NAIA national championship, giving Adam leadership experience with three national championship teams. He coached 14 ITA All-Americans while he worked at Georgia Gwinnett College, started the Gwinnett Classic (an invitational high school team tournament) and grew the GGC Grizzly Open team tournament to include 25 NCAA and NAIA teams. Adam has a bachelor's degree in English from Appalachian State University, a master's (M.A.T.) degree in secondary education from Piedmont College, and several years of classroom and high school team coaching experience. Adam served as head tennis professional at the Georgia Club of Statham, Georgia, coached individuals and teams, administered tennis camps, and holds the United States Professional Tennis Registry highest certification. He has a 5.0 NTRP skill level rating and is certified to administer CPR and AED. Adam has worked directly with schools, organized Special Olympics events, accompanied adult league teams and individuals/groups of junior tournament players, and successfully organized adult mixers. Adam even taught high school literature!
Adam has planned a full program of clinics, camps, private and semi-private lessons, and events for our community. He can accept private and semi-private lessons prior to that date. Adam can restring and regrip racquets and will assist in the selection and purchase of tennis racquets. Adam is excited about the opportunity to grow the sport of tennis in the Greene County Community by offering fun, knowledgeable instruction to players of all ages and creating numerous opportunities for players to play and enjoy the game. The best way to improve tennis skills is through regular practice and match play. Youth programs include age- and skill-level appropriate instruction. For adults, Adam will lead the Adult Doubles Clinic on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. If you scroll down this page, you can review each month's program, register, and pay for each program. Registration helps Adam plan successful programs and ensure he has staff for the program. DROP INS ARE WELCOME. Each instructor has passed the USTA background screen and received training from Adam.
Adult Doubles Clinics
Adult Doubles Clinic is every Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The first hour will be used for warmup and drills, with the last half hour used for play with coaching. Learn doubles strategy, polish your strokes, and have fun while getting in a workout on court. $15 per player per session.

High School Kids Instruction
Kids aged 14-18 (or 9th through 12th grade) will polish their strokes and learn basic singles and doubles strategy. Sessions will incorporate more live ball and point play scenarios, while continuing to polish strokes and footwork. The goal of this clinic is to give any student who wishes to play high school tennis the tools needed to be successful at that level. High School Clinics are offered as scheduled by Coach Jackson and the high school player. Middle School Kids Instruction Clinics Starting May 4, 2017
Kids aged 11 - 13 (or 6th through 8th grade) can enjoy learning the fundamentals of tennis with an added emphasis on competitive play and singles & doubles. All students will learn to keep score in both ad and no-ad scoring formats, proper positioning for doubles, and all strokes. More emphasis will be placed on footwork and hitting while moving. Predominantly hand toss and dead ball feeds used with occasional live ball drills if appropriate. Twice a Week Middle School Clinics are offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Each session is $15. If you pay a month in advance, you receive a discount equal to one free session. Advance payment can only be applied to the month for which the payment was intended without carrying over to the next clinic.
Elementary School Kids Instruction Clinics Starting May 4, 2017
Kids aged 7 - 10 (or 3rd through 5th grade) will learn the basic fundamentals of tennis in a fun and engaging environment. The six basic strokes: Forehand Groundstroke, Backhand Groundstroke, Forehand and Backhand Volley, Overhead, and Serve will be taught in an easy to understand way that allows students to enjoy success quickly. Basic rules, lines, and scoring will be taught on a 60' court. Low Compression (orange) balls are used. Predominantly hand toss and dead ball feeds used. Twice A Week Elementary School Clinics are offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. Each session is $12. If you pay a month in advance, you receive a discount equal to one free session. Advance payment can only be applied to the month for which the payment was intended without carrying over to the next clinic.
Pee Wee Kids Instruction Clinics Starting May 4, 2017
Pee Wee clinics are for kids aged four to six years. These are offered weekly on Thursdays from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. Each session is $10.
